The South Korean shipping and logistics company is establishing its first European hub in Amsterdam for the import, export and distribution of vehicles. Port of Amsterdam, Hyundai GLOVIS and Koopman Logistics Group signed the agreement on 28 May during a festive ceremony. From 1 January 2027, Hyundai Glovis will take approximately 47 hectares of land into use.

Today the new Jetten cabinet was sworn in. Port of Amsterdam wishes the new government every success and happiness and is pleased that it is “getting to work.” The cabinet is focusing on future-proof energy and industrial clusters, which are very important for the Netherlands’ competitiveness and the sustainability transition of our society. The Amsterdam port and developments in the North Sea Canal Area play a significant role in this.

The detailed design for the hydrogen network being developed by HyNetwork in the North Sea Canal Area has been completed. This covers both a new hydrogen pipeline and an existing natural gas pipeline that will be converted. This marks an important milestone in the technical development of the network. We asked our colleague Thomas Steenbergen how such a network can be integrated into an already busy port area.

Mibau Stema Group, a supplier of aggregates for the European construction and infrastructure sector, is developing its own terminal of approximately 5 hectares in the Afrikahaven. The terminal is expected to become operational by the end of Q2 or the beginning of Q3 2026.

The consortium consisting of the Spanish company Ership, the German shipping line Aug. Bolten and the Swiss Nova Marine has acquired the shares in VCK Port Logistics from VCK Group. This was announced by VCK Group on 9 January. The new partnership also includes Verenigd Cargadoorskantoor and Waterland Terminal. They will operate under the Dutch holding company Maja Stuwadoorsgroep. Ership and Aug. Bolten/Nova had already acquired the shares in Maja in February 2025.

EcoLog has taken an important step in the development of a liquid hydrogen import terminal in the Port of Amsterdam. This week, the company signed an agreement in Tokyo with a group of technology partners that will supply equipment for both the future import terminal and the vessels that will transport the hydrogen. The signing took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Japan, H.E. Gilles Beschoor Plug.
