VHF 7
Call sign “IJmuiden Approach”
Supporting marine radiotelephony channel for vessels calling on the Port of IJmuiden. This channel is used to make initial contact with vessels headed for the Amsterdam North Sea Canal Area and to exchange information on the following items:
- Shipping and cargo information
- Vessels entering and leaving the Port
- Traffic planning
- Pilotage
- Anchor advice on request

Call sign "IJmuiden Port Control"
- Vessels are required to report their arrival
- Vessels are required to check the navigation channel
- Vessels must be contactable through this communication channel

Call sign “Traffic information”
VHF channel for vessels underway and as a support for the VTS. On this channel the traffic participant can obtain further information on:
- The current journey through the region
- Berth information
- Infrastructural information, such as works in progress on the fairway, obstructions etc.
- Reports on ships particulars and intentions during the journey, i.e. entering oil harbours or passing reporting points
- Completing formalities after traffic incidents

VHF 14
Call sign “Port information"
VHF channel for vessels moored in port and for the administration tasks imposed by the Harbourmaster and the Regional Port Legislation North Sea Canal Area. On this channel the port user can make the reports mentioned in the regional port legislation such as:
- Commencing and terminating activities for which permission was necessary.
- Commencing and terminating bunkering, board to board discharging, collecting waste, cleaning etc.
- Questions concerning the provision of port services.
- Requests for exemptions, reporting breakdowns on board.
- Completing formalities concerning (surface) pollutions and incidents.
- All notifications in connection with IVS 90 (the Rijkswaterstaat Information and Tracking System).
