Hyundai Glovis develops vehicle logistics hub in the Port of Amsterdam
The South Korean shipping and logistics company is establishing its first European hub in Amsterdam for the import, export and distribution of vehicles. Port of Amsterdam, Hyundai GLOVIS and Koopman Logistics Group signed the agreement on 28 May during a festive ceremony. From 1 January 2027, Hyundai Glovis will take approximately 47 hectares of land into use.
At the new location, Hyundai Glovis will consolidate its international vehicle flows before distributing them further to European markets. This means that vehicle flows currently spread across several European ports will be brought together in Amsterdam. The consolidation of these cargo flows at the Amsterdam car terminal will lead to a significant increase in vessel calls and more intensive use of both the nautical infrastructure and hinterland connections by rail. The terminal’s logistics operations will be handled by Koopman Logistics Group.
Koen Overtoom, CEO of Port of Amsterdam: “We are building the Port of the future: connected, clean and internationally competitive. Hyundai Glovis is exactly the kind of global partner that fits that ambition.”
Hyundai GLOVIS announced the news in its own news article.
