Under the name Project Clean Amsterdam, Skoon Energy and Port of Amsterdam are launching a floating battery that provides the city and port with clean energy. In this way, the two companies contribute to relieving the burden on the electricity network.

Athos, the joint project set up by Gasunie, EBN, Port of Amsterdam and Tata Steel for carbon capture, transport, utilisation and storage in the North Sea Canal region, put out a call for potential customers and carbon storage partners in November 2019 and received a very pleasing number of responses.

Port of Amsterdam set a new transhipment record in 2019 with transhipment totalling 86.9 million tonnes, compared to 82.3 million tonnes in 2018. This represents a 6% increase.
