This privacy statement is dated 20 November 2021 and is subject to change.

Havenbedrijf Amsterdam N.V. (HbA) and the Harbour Master Division will process your personal data with due care and security in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. An internal supervisor sees to it that, as the parties responsible for processing, they process your personal data in accordance with the law and regulations. The internal supervisor supervises the processing of personal data by HbA and by the Harbour Master's Division.

 

Scope of this general statement

 

In this privacy statement, you will find general information about the processing of your personal data by PoA and the Harbour Master Division. In addition, you can read how to contact us and how to exercise your rights.

In addition to this general statement, we have drawn up various specific privacy statement. This contain information about the purpose of the processing in question, the legal basis, which personal data of yours we process and how long we keep these data. The specific privacy statement supplement this general privacy statement and the statements must therefore be read in conjunction with each other. This privacy statement is only applicable to the processing of personal data by HbA and the Harbour Master Division. For questions regarding the processing of your data by other companies or organisations in the Amsterdam port, you should contact them.

 

Cooperations and the passing on of personal details

 

HbA and the Harbour Master Division sometimes work together with other parties. If legally required, they will make agreements with the other parties in these collaborative arrangements about the protection of your personal data. When your data are processed in a joint venture, you will be informed separately by means of a specific privacy statement. Sometimes, it is the case that the HbA or the Harbour Master Division is not the first point of contact if you have questions about the processing of personal data by such a partnership. What are your rights?

 

If you would to view, change, add to or remove your personal details that are stored with us, you can make a request. If the processing of your personal data is carried out by automated means, you can also request that we send you your personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable form. You can exercise your rights by sending a request to privacy@portofamsterdam.com

 

We will deal with the requests within four (4) weeks. This means that you will receive a response to your request within four weeks. Depending on the complexity of the requests and the number of requests, we can extend this period by two (2) months if necessary.

If we do not act (or do not act promptly) on your request, we will not be able to answer it.

If we cannot (or do not wish to) fulfil your request, we will immediately, and at the latest within one (1) month of receipt of your request, inform you of the reasons why your request was not fulfilled.

Naturally, we are happy to help you if you have any complaints about the processing of your personal data. But can you still not solve the problem with us? Then you also have the right, under the privacy legislation, to submit a complaint to the privacy supervisor, the Netherlands Data Protection Authority.

This means that you have the right to complain to us about the processing of your personal data.
