Masdar, one of the world’s leading clean energy companies, Port of Amsterdam, SkyNRG and Zenith Energy Terminals have signed a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to assess the feasibility of a dedicated liquefied green hydrogen supply chain for Masdar produced hydrogen to the port of Amsterdam. The new Agreement follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year between Masdar and four Dutch companies.

Havengeldtarieven stijgen op 1 januari 2024 met 5,90% tegenover 2023. De stijging is deels in lijn met de inflatie waar ook Port of Amsterdam mee te maken heeft. Verder is er rekening gehouden met de ontwikkeling van havengelden in andere havens binnen de ARA-regio (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerpen).

For years, port areas have been transformed into residential areas by the municipality. Despite these developments, Port of Amsterdam is doing all it can to preserve as many inland waterway waiting berths as possible.

As of the 1st of January, the new Regional Port Byelaws will come into effect in the entire North Sea Canal area. The ordinance has been established by the municipalities of Amsterdam, Beverwijk, Velsen, and Zaanstad.

We are currently in the midst of constructing a new Coaster waiting jetty at the end of Mercuriushaven.

As of January 1, 2024, a new version of the pilotage regulation will be taken into effect. Various changes will apply to the Amsterdam-IJmond seaport area. Most changes can be found in Chapter 3, within Article 23 and Article 27 specifically.

The Oranjesluizen complex near Amsterdam has been closed since 19:00 on Wednesday evening due to the water level in the Markermeer. As a result, the Noorder, Midden and Zuidersluis and the Prins Willem Alexandersluis are expected to be out of operation until Wednesday 10 January, 19:00.

Today, Rijkswaterstaat will start testing the Noorder, Midden and Zuidersluis and the Prins Willem Alexandersluis to see if the Oranjesluizen complex in Amsterdam can be safely opened again. If these tests go well, ships can engage in lockage again.

In November 2022, we replaced the shore power points on the inland shipping jetty in the Nieuwe Houthaven with 'smart' shore power points. A real milestone, because now all the shore power points are smart in the port of Amsterdam!

In the first quarter of 2023 we will create an additional waiting place for coupled push barges. This waiting berth will be an extension of the current waiting berths along the Houthaven breakwater.
