GIDARA Energy has chosen the port of Amsterdam as the location for its biofuel plant Advanced Methanol Amsterdam (AMA). This plant will convert previously non-recyclable waste into methanol.

In welcome news, the second lockdown will be lifted per Saturday, the 5th of June. This means that river cruise vessels, with a maximum of 50 passengers in one space, can visit the port of Amsterdam again.

The growing demand for climate-neutral hydrogen creates the necessity for the market to work properly and for transparent, efficient pricing. A hydrogen exchange will be able to facilitate both. The new hydrogen exchange will be called HyXchange.

Eurotank Amsterdam (ETA, part of VTTI) is investing in the storage of biofuels.

In the coming months Port of Amsterdam will replace all existing shore power units with smart, green shore power. This will happen to all cabinets in the port area within the ring (A10) of Amsterdam.
