Gasunie, EBN, Port of Amsterdam and Tata Steel are working together as Athos, on the development of a CCUS project in the North Sea Canal area. The parties recently completed a feasibility study and announced that they will continue the project by conducting various follow-up studies.

More than 41,000 solar panels will generate sustainable energy in the Port of Amsterdam for logistics services provider CWT. Spread across five locations, the panels will together form the largest solar project in Amsterdam.

The Netherlands is about to witness the emergence of significantly larger offshore wind farms. In addition to resulting in estimated double revenues for the wind energy industry by 2030, this will lead to the creation of around 25,000 to 30,000 new jobs.

For instance, by asking ourselves whether we could use less raw materials to make things and also whether we might use “second-hand raw materials”. So what is required is a broad scope,’ says Andre Arends, managing director of GMP Group, of which Paro, which is located in the port of Amsterdam, is part.

Nouryon, Tata Steel and Port of Amsterdam have joined together to study the feasibility of a large green hydrogen cluster in the Amsterdam region. The three parties consider green hydrogen as vital for reaching climate targets and building a more circular economy, for example by combining it with emissions from steel manufacture to make new products.
