In the coming months, OpenIJ is working on the final stages of the construction of Zeesluis IJmuiden. This summer, OpenIJ delivers the largest sea lock in the world to Rijkswaterstaat. This will be followed by an extensive test phase of the lock gates (number 3 on the picture). You must register in order to be able to provide ship notifications when calling at Port of Amsterdam.

Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG. is granted a permit to bunker LNG fuel with the above-mentioned LNG bunker ship Kairos within the municipalities of Amsterdam, Velsen and Zaanstad.

This coming week, Rijkswaterstaat will start preparatory work to remove the contaminated dredged material from the Averijhaven depot. This is necessary to transform the site on the sea side of the North Sea Canal into the Energiehaven. -
The dredge sludge depot at the former Averijhaven near IJmuiden will soon be developed into an Energy Port.
