Spotlights on housing blocks
For years, port areas have been transformed into residential areas by the municipality. Despite these developments, Port of Amsterdam is doing all it can to preserve as many inland waterway waiting berths as possible.
However, users of the waiting berths have to comply with various rules. For example, the ban on using a generator due to noise pollution. Occasionally, complaints do come in from residents who live in the Houthaven-area about the spotlights from barges being pointed at the blocks of houses.
This can be very annoying. Therefore, we kindly ask all inland skippers to pay attention to this and not to point the spotlights at the houses. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
