New Measures at Waste Collection Points
A clean port is a shared responsibility. That’s why Port of Amsterdam is introducing additional measures to keep the waste collection points for inland shipping tidy, safe and accessible.
The containers are intended specifically for inland vessels and can be opened easily with an access card or via the Shippassist app from SAB. If a container is full, please take your waste back on board — together we keep the port clean.
On February 11, 2026, new signs were installed indicating camera surveillance and potential sanctions. The first cameras have been placed in the Afrikahaven; if misuse continues, monitoring will be expanded to other locations. Only with proper use can we continue offering this service.
