The Port of Amsterdam and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance a transatlantic green hydrogen corridor, connecting Eastern Canada’s production potential with Europe’s growing demand for clean energy.

A groundbreaking Joint Development Agreement (JDA) has been signed to establish the world’s first liquid hydrogen import corridor, connecting the Sultanate of Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany. This corridor will link the port of Duqm in Oman, the port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and key logistics hubs in Germany, including the port of Duisburg in Germany, enabling the commercial-scale import of renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO) compliant liquid hydrogen to Europe.

Together with our international partners, we signed two new agreements that herald a next phase in the development of a corridor between the Spanish port of Bilbao and the port of Amsterdam for green hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives.

Today, Ellen Ruhotas (Zenith Energy Terminals Europe) was the recipient of a Hydrogen Medal for her extraordinary efforts to develop an innovative green hydrogen chain, which could be of great importance for the hydrogen import position of Amsterdam, and, by extension, the Netherlands. The medal was presented to her by Mr. Han Feenstra, one of the founders of the National Hydrogen Program and senior policy advisor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, on behalf of Port of Amsterdam.

Masdar, one of the world’s leading clean energy companies, Port of Amsterdam, SkyNRG and Zenith Energy Terminals have signed a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to assess the feasibility of a dedicated liquefied green hydrogen supply chain for Masdar produced hydrogen to the port of Amsterdam. The new Agreement follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year between Masdar and four Dutch companies.

The Government of Oman, Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom), Port of Amsterdam, Zenith Energy Terminals and GasLog agree to study the development of a liquid hydrogen supply chain, to deliver Omani green hydrogen to the Port of Amsterdam and onwards to Europe.
