We’re opening up the locks for...

Companies that want to increase their circular activities

The circular industry has been given plenty of space in the port area. For example, we help these companies establish themselves, continuously work on optimal facilities and connect new and existing companies to each other so that they can mutually reinforce each other. We also welcome circular start-ups and scale-ups to become part of the port business community.

This is how we help companies increase their circular activities:

Biopark havengebied

A BioPark in the port area

At the BioPark, companies can develop new sustainable and circular activities on a commercial scale. In turn, we are investing in the nautical infrastructure for incoming and outgoing waterways and ensuring good disposal possibilities by road and rail. We are also developing infrastructure for sustainable energy and raw materials that will facilitate the availability of green hydrogen, steam and CO2.

With this network, we’re putting the circular companies in greater Amsterdam on the map and connecting both companies and governments. The Amsterdam region has the potential to become a major circular industrial hub and we’re more than glad to help the region achieve this goal.

Production and storage of renewable fuels

We want to remain a major energy and fuel port whilst also embracing the future. That’s why we have set our goal to become fully climate-neutral by 2050. With our good hinterland connections, knowledge and infrastructure for blending fuels, and the biobased production facilities near the port, this goal shouldn’t be a challenge.
