The area as indicated in drawing N0822v01 (see Appendix), located in the Moezelhaven at Amsterdam, will be closed to shipping traffic with effect from 11 juli 2024. Shipping traffic bound for the shipyard in the Moezelhaven, however, will be exempted from this prohibition.
On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the SAIL-In Parade (hereafter referred to as "the Parade") will take place as the opening of the SAIL 2025 event. The Parade will feature a convoy of approximately 50 Tall Ships, accompanied by hundreds of historic vessels, passenger ships, and recreational craft. The Parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 with the ships departing from the locks at IJmuiden and is expected to end around 18:00, when the final vessels dock at IJhaven.
On Sunday, 24 August 2025, at 14:00, the SAIL-Out Parade (hereafter referred to as "the Parade") will take place as part of the SAIL 2025 event. The Parade will feature a convoy of approximately 50 Tall Ships, accompanied by a large number of historic vessels, passenger ships, and recreational craft. The Parade is scheduled to begin at 14:00 from the IJhaven and is expected to conclude around 19:00, when the last vessels pass through the locks at IJmuiden.
The SAIL 2025 event will take place in Amsterdam from 10:00 on Wednesday 20 August 2025 to 19:00 on Sunday 24 August 2025 This significant maritime event will see large numbers of passenger vessels and recreational craft visiting the Afgesloten IJ. As a result, various traffic measures and closures will be implemented to ensure safe and efficient shipping operations throughout the event.
The measures will apply to both municipal and national waters.

As a sustainable port, Port of Amsterdam has a duty of care towards the marine environment. It wants to limit marine pollution and soil pollution as much as possible. Because when using an exhaust gas scrubber in open loop mode in combination with fuel oil with more than 0.1 mass % sulphur, washing water is constantly discharged at the berth, the use of this technology for moored seagoing vessels within the municipality of Amsterdam is prohibited.
Departing car carriers with a length of more than 180 m which leave stern first from the Westhaven must have a second pilot on board.
This Decree will come into force on 9 June 2024.
With effect from 9 June 2024, a second pilot will be required on board the following seagoing ships:
Departing car carriers with length over all greater than 180 m leaving the Westhaven stern first.
The applicant is granted a permit to bunker liquefied methane with the above-mentioned bunker ship FlexFueler 001 and the above-mentioned bunker ship FlexFueler 002 within the municipalities of Amsterdam, Velsen and Zaanstad.
This permit relates exclusively to the bunkering of liquefied methane to another ship from the Alice Cosulich, or any other vessel from Fratelli Cosulich Shipmanagement Srl that is registered by the applicant and approved by the Director of the Central Nautical Management North Sea Canal Area, that is capable for liquefied methane.
