Amsterdam Chemical Cluster Invests in Circular Economy

News item

To celebrate its Centennial this year, the Association of the Dutch Chemical Industry (VNCI) is hosting a series of events throughout 2018 in the six chemical clusters located in the Netherlands, including Amsterdam. At the upcoming gathering in Amsterdam Science Park, scheduled for 19 October, attendees will be offered a glimpse behind the scenes.

The event coincides with the annual Amsterdam Chemistry Innovation Day (ACID).
The morning programme includes company visits, including to Albe Marle, ChainCraft and Prodock, followed by a conference hosted in Amsterdam Science Park in the afternoon.

The VNCI will be presenting the Roadmap 2050, while Port of Amsterdam will glance into the future of the Amsterdam chemical cluster. This was recently addressed in an article published by VNCI titled ‘Amsterdam Chemical Cluster Invests in Circular Economy’. Also at the event, Master’s and PhD students will be presenting their research to regional, national and international chemical companies. This fruitful interaction between the scientific and start-up communities and more established companies is further enhanced by the Amsterdam Chemistry Platform, a partnership between Port of Amsterdam and Innovation Lab Chemistry Amsterdam (ILCA).

Amsterdam Chemistry Platform has the following objectives:

  • Connecting the various networks
  • Making available research, analyses, students and education
  • Providing a platform for developing start-ups, scale-ups and industry
