The Deputy Director Central Nautical Management, who is also the Deputy (State) Harbour Master, announces the following:
In the period from 7 to 31 October 2019 repair works will be carried out to the IJmuiden South Breakwater by work ship Christiaan-P.

The work ship Christiaan-P has a length of 50.08 metres and a beam of 10.50 metres. When at work at damage locations A and B, the ship will be well outside the fairway; when at work at damage KM 3025, it will lie parallel to the breakwater as much as possible. During the activities, Christiaan-P will be moored on spud poles.
The repair works will be carried out from Monday to Friday during daylight hours as much as possible. The following conditions apply:
When working from the water, significant wave height (the mean wave height of the highest third of the waves) must be less than 0.5 metres;
Wind must be less than 4 Beaufort;
Visibility must be more than 3000 metres;
Christiaan-P will maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF 61, the sector channel of IJmuiden Port Control. The repair works can be interrupted if necessary.
All ships entering or leaving the breakwaters are requested to keep wash to a minimum as much as possible.
The period required for carrying out the activities will be as short a possible or as long as necessary.
