Haven Amsterdam

Air

Some 240 international destinations are currently served by 'International Amsterdam Airport' Schiphol - one of the four largest airports in Europe for goods and persons transport. Schiphol is twenty minutes drive from the Port of Amsterdam and with the arrival of the 'Westrandweg' in 2012, this connection will be even better. The airport can also be reached in fifteen minutes by public transport form the city centre.

Atlaspark

The Port of Amsterdam is working together with Schiphol to develop 'Atlaspark' - an area intended for logistics service providers. With a central location, it is an area very suitable for companies intending to transport goods both by water as by air. In the port these companies can come together for purposes of product assembly and transit, for instance. Atlaspark is the place for distribution companies requiring five hectares or more.

Second Coentunnel

The 'Coentunnel' runs below the North Sea Canal. Due to the increase traffic congestion on both sides of the tunnel, a Second Coentunnel will be built (due to be completed in 2012). To better distribute traffic to the south of the Coentunnel, the Westrandweg (the A5) will be constructed. Construction of the Westrandweg (A5) will not only ease congestion on the Amsterdam ring (A10), but will also connect the port to Schiphol Airport via the A9.
