International Association of Ports and Harbors

Port of Amsterdam is a member of the International Association of Ports and Harbors.

IAPH is a global alliance of ports, represented by over 200 ports and 140 port-related businesses in 90 countries. The member ports all together handle well over 60% of the world's sea-borne trade and nearly 80% of the world container traffic. It is a non-profit-making and non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Supervision Update

As part of the national project Supervision Update in the Transport by Water domain, the harbour masters of the Amsterdam North Sea Canal region (CNB region) and the harbour master of Rotterdam, together with national inspectorates, work to increase the effect of supervision, and reduce the burden on companies.

Sailing Safely

The covenant Sailing Safely! stimulates safety on the waterway between professional and recreational shipping. The Port of Amsterdam participates in the covenant, and helped to draw up detailed maps with advisory routes.

Pleasure on the water (only available in Dutch)

"Pleasure on the water" is an information platform for everyone who recreates on water. This includes rental boats, motor and sailing yachts, and river and zee cruise ships. The website is provides tips on sailing safely and environmentally friendly.
