On Thursday 19th January, bulk stevedore IGMA, charter party Cargill and Port of Amsterdam jointly welcomed the brand new vessel, MV LBC Energy, on her maiden voyage into the port.

The 70.000 dwt ‘Light Bulk Carrier’ (hence LBC in her name) arrived in Amsterdam to deliver 60.000 tons of citrus pellets and soya bean meal, transported on her maiden voyage from Santos in Brasil.
Built in Japan by Oshima Shipyard, the LBC Energy will sail exclusively for IGMA Parcel Service (IPS) in the coming year, transporting agri-bulk cargoes with a low weight to volume ratio between South America and Europe. The 201x37 meter vessel has a Chinese crew of 21 headed by Captain Rao Mubing (photo, together with Commercial Manager, James Hallworth of Port of Amsterdam) and First Mate, Li Hongbin.
The port of Amsterdam wishes captain and crew fair sailing and hopes to welcome their vessel into Amsterdam on a regular basis.
