Obviously Seatrade Miami remains the leading cruise conference worldwide, but as the cruise sector in North Western Europe is showing impressive growth figures over the last years, the convention in Hamburg is becoming increasingly important. The number of visitors were up over 30% compared to previous years. The convention in Hamburg concerns both the sea cruise as well as the river cruise industry. |

On the first day a breakfast was organized by the Atlantic Alliance Organization. The breakfast, sponsored by the Port of Amsterdam, was attended by many representatives of shipping lines, tour operators and ships agents. Various awards have been granted to selected parties from the cruise industry and ACP president Hans Gerson delivered a speech, in which he illustrated the spectacular growth of the cruise figures in the Amsterdam region. The same day a “Happy Hour” was organized in the Amsterdam Cruise Port booth, brightened up with entertainment and a “lucky draw” whereby a diamond, offered by Gassan Diamonds, was put up for raffle. The first edition of the new brochure “River Cruise Noord – Holland” was officially presented to Christopher Hayman, president of Seatrade. The Cruise Europe Organization celebrated its 20th anniversary in Hotel Four Seasons, where invitees could extensively network with delegates from the international cruise industry from all over the world. |

This time Amsterdam Cruise Ports had its own booth. The ACP booth had the appearance of an “old fashion pub”, but from the prospect of a cruise ship. A large number of ACP members were present in the Amsterdam Cruise Port booth, varying from terminal operators (PTA and Felison), agents (DS Shipping, Inschape and VCK), tour operators (Kuoni and Amstour) to hotel (Mövepick) and diamond industry. The booth was frequently visited by quality delegates from many cruise related industries (sea cruise and river cruise), interesting information was exchanged and leads have been collected for follow up. |
